I used to love cheesy garlic toast, and decided to replicate an old time favourite using nutritional yeast. Chock full of b-vitamins, Nutritional Yeast provides a robust cheesy flavour that works as a great substitute for cheese. Paired with garlic and avocado oil it's a match made in heaven! I find broiling the garlic toast works really well, which is why I selected avocado oil, as it stands up to higher temperatures.
We used french bread in the picture above, but we've had great success with gluten free bread as well. Enjoy!
3 large cloves garlic, crushed
2/3 cup avocado oil
1/4 cup nutritional yeast
1 tsp garlic powder
Lg pinch sea salt (or truffle salt)
Pair with 1 loaf sliced french or gluten free bread.
Whisk together garlic "butter" ingredients in a bowl. Spread on top of bread slices and broil for 2-4 minutes, depending on your oven. This pairs really well with Shrek Spaghetti and Cheesy Roasted Broccoli for a complete meal.
